Today we're releasing a new section of Top Rated - a way to drill down and view Top Rated by month.
For example, here's Top Rated for August 2018. This is divided into three sections:
- Games with ranks: These are the games with 3 or more reviews from our partners. In this section, you'll see a new feature - a "month rank" shown in a blue box above each title. The overall rank is shown underneath, labelled "site rank".
- Games with reviews but no rank: These games have 1 or 2 reviews, so not enough to qualify for our main Top Rated list. As a result, they don't have a rank yet. You can stil see their scores so far in this list.
- Games with no reviews: This should be self-explanatory - we haven't got reviews for these games yet.
By splitting the Top Rated by month from the Release Calendar, we've been able to tidy up the Release Calendar months due to the Top Rated games no longer being shown there. Here's an example: Release Calendar - August 2018
If you're wondering why we have two pages, it's because the Release Calendar is there to show all of the releases for a given month in the order they came out, whereas Top Rated by month orders the page differently. Hopefully they're both useful and the design improvements are worthwhile.
